     1  1    Amend House File 2558 as follows:
     1  2 #1.  By striking everything after the enacting
     1  3 clause and inserting the following:
     1  4    <Section 1.  DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE == VICTIM
     1  5 ASSISTANCE GRANTS == APPROPRIATION.  There is
     1  6 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
     1  7 department of justice for the fiscal year beginning
     1  8 July 1, 2004, and ending June 30, 2005, the following
     1  9 amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be used
     1 10 for the purpose designated:
     1 11    For victim assistance grants:
     1 12 .................................................. $  2,250,000
     1 13    The funds appropriated in this section shall be
     1 14 used to provide grants to care providers providing
     1 15 services to crime victims of domestic abuse or to
     1 16 crime victims of rape and sexual assault.>
     1 17 #2.  Title page, line 1, by inserting after the
     1 18 word <to> the following:  <victims of>.
     1 19 #3.  Title page, lines 1 through 3, by striking the
     1 20 words <against members of the species homo sapiens at
     1 21 any stage of development and making penalties
