The Legislative Service Bureau (LSB) is a central nonpartisan legislative agency mandated to provide legislative drafting and research services to the committees and members of the Iowa General Assembly. The various services provided by the LSB are executed by its several divisions.

The LSB's Legal and Committee Services Division provides drafting, research and committee staffing services during both the session and interim. The LSB's Iowa Code Division and Administrative Code Division are charged with publishing The Code of Iowa, The Acts of the General Assembly, The Iowa Administrative Code, and Iowa Administrative Bulletin. In addition, the LSB oversees a legislative library, the Legislative Information Office (LIO) and the Capitol Tour Guides through its Information Services Division. The LSB's Support Services Division provides support and clerical services to the Bureau. The LSB, maintains offices in the Capitol and Lucas State Office Building. The main office is on the third floor of the Capitol Building.
