IowaFathers is for this bill. Being as the SCOTUS has already ruled that parental rights are fundamental, natural rights protected by the US Constitution, it is difficult to imagine anyone opposing this without violating their oath of office. Those opposing this would surely support the government infringement of any right, as according to basic humanity and also the SCOTUS, parental rights are more precious than property rights. I notice that the only opponents of this in the declarations are $$$$ attorney associations $$$$. Perhaps they should stick to law instead of trying to infringe on the rights of children and parents with such vigor on every bill they find that contains even a shred of respect for the bond between parent and child. The weak rhetoric is seen through by the general public now.

This legislation is imperative to move through. I personally have witnessed several instances where parental alienation has caused substantial harm to the children involved. No where is this more evident then in these situations that involve special needs children. All parents have rights. Yes, even fathers. Its time for Iowa to stop removing good parents from childrens lives simply because of divorce and a vindictive spouse. Let good parents do what they do and be involved with the raising of the children they brought into this world.
