The Urban Education Network is registered undecided on this bill. We have no objections to this kind of opportunity to engage volunteers being paid by their employees for volunteer service in the community to fill substitute positions which are in critical shortage. We continue to stress that adequate funding is necessary for all schools to have the resources to attract, retain and compensate staff in all positions, including substitute teachers.
