Thank you for removing some of the harmful aspects of HSB 698. However, please remove the child support clause since it is inefficient and causes children to loose benefits.

Thank you for consolidating all of the previous bills.Please remove Section 5, which requires parents to cooperate with child support recovery or lose access to SNAP benefits. SNAP benefits are spent at local grocery stores; contributing to the Iowa economy.Loss of benefits will increase child hunger in Iowa, which is poor public policy and a bad image for the state. Reducing child hunger is the Christian thing to do.Sincerely,Jean McMaken
