I can not be present in person for your subcommittee meeting BUT I can ask you to recommend passage of this bill as amended and passed by the Senate.I have serve on three task forces addressing this issue. I am aware that over half of the reported cases of elder abuse to DHS are not even investigated because of the narrow Iowa law.I know the persons who have worked on this bill. I have been told that this bill will protect ALL older Iowans, from ALL abusers. for ALL types of abuse, in ALL settings.PLEASE RECOMMEND PASSAGE OF SF 522 and strongly advocacy for its passage by the Judiciary Committee.Thank You!

I urge passage of this bill. If COVID19 has shown us anything, it is the importance of care and support for some of our most vulnerable Iowans. This bill protects them, provides greater peaceofmind to their loved ones, and provides strong penalties for those who fail to protect their fellow citizens.
