IASB registered in support of the bill because it strengthens the Teach Iowa Scholar program by ensuring funds from discontinued loan forgiveness programs goes to individuals teaching in designated shortage areas. Schools sometimes scramble to find qualified teachers in these areas and if we can strengthen this program by keeping more teachers in Iowa that go to these shortage areas, our schools are better for it.
