Please vote no on SSB 1150. Horse and dog racing exploit innocent animals for money. The dog industry is dying and we need to let that happen and not prop it up with increased betting. Both horse and dog racing cause tremendous suffering. Horse racing causes 700 to 800 deaths per year in the United States. Both of these industries just dispose of the animals that don't perform.Dogs are killed and horses are sent to slaughter. The public is beginning to learn the truth about these industries. These are not "sports". https://horseracingwrongs.org/thebiglie/https://www.ranker.com/list/sadgreyhoundracingfacts/lauraallanPlease vote no on SSB1150

Please vote no. This is unethical.

I am writing in opposition of SSB 1150. I urge you to vote against allowing Iowans dollars to contribute to under regulated international animal races that have a history of questionable ethics. Im maddened to see our legislators working on ways to expand gambling possibilities as opposed to helping Iowans who are being crushed under the weight of a pandemic.
