Oppose. Dentists and pharmacists are not qualified to monitor the health of an individual after a vaccine is administered or to know the health history of the person they are administering vaccinations to. Will they know the difference between an allergic reaction, cardiac arrest, seizure, etc? Too many people are already injured by vaccines without proper reporting, we do NOT need to add more practitioners to the list who are not prepared for the negative consequences.

I oppose HSB71. As I do not believe dentists are fully equipped and trained to monitor a patient that has been administered a Covid vaccine.

Oppose. Dentists do not have enough background knowledge on the patients health in order to have the wisdom of whether or not a patient should be getting these vaccines. Dentists are not equipped for this type of procedure and/or any adverse reactions that will may come along with administering vaccines.

Oppose HSB71 Dentists are not qualified or equipped to monitor the health of an individual after administration of a vaccine. As well as not knowing the full medical history of a patient. Will they know the difference between an allergic reaction, cardiac arrest, etc , on top of knowing which actions to take when these things happen? There is too much at stake giving non qualified persons permission to administer vaccines when theres already too many injured by them and they are already not properly reported.

OPPOSE. This is not their specialty by any means. Vaccines carry risk. They have been classified by our Supreme Court as unavoidably unsafe. These MUST be continued to be administered in clinic and hospital settings where reactions can immediately be addressed. It would be a danger to allow for this to be done in a dental office provided the inherent risks.

I oppose HSB 71 Pharmacists and dentists are not qualified to monitor vaccines.

I oppose HSB 71. Allowing anyone to administer vaccines without proper training is a public health hazard. Furthermore, forcing vaccination on anyone is unethical, inhumane due to the plethora of known reactions, and goes against our constitutional rights. Our healthcare should be our choice and personal responsibility. Please oppose this bill.

I am a Registered Nurse and we are trained to follow the 7 rights to medication administration which are: 7 rights of medication administration: right patient, right drug, right dose, right time, right route, rightreason and right documentation We are also trained to assess and monitor changes. There already has been a 15 year old child accidentally vaccinated with covid 19 vaccine and this bill could open up the possibility of more vaccine injuries.Kimberly Pestle RN

How will they train Dentists on the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System which is required by federal law when our medical providers arent even adequately trained?

I oppose. Health professionals need to stay in their own lanes. Dentists are not trained to understand the immune system, they work on teeth. This is deeply concerning they wont have adequate training and understanding. This will burden an already busy office with a treatment completely outside of their scope of service. What if a follow up appointment is necessary for subsequent evaluation? Dentists arent equipped to oversee all the various follow up needs.

Oppose. Dentists and pharmacists are not qualified to monitor the health of a person who has received a vaccine or even knowing their health history before administering a vaccine. Too many people are injured by vaccines and are not reported correctly. Thanks for reading.

OPPOSE: I am opposed to HSB71. Dentists need to focus on dental care and not get involved in the vaccine business.

Strongly OPPOSE HSB 71, which allows dentists to prescribe and administer vaccines:1) Lack of training:A few hours of "special training" proposed won't be able to make up forthelack of standard in dental education on the subject. Current commission on Dental Accreditation has no outlined dental education standards regarding the training and usage of vaccines. Furthermore, dentists are NOT trained in INFORMED CONSENT.2) Due diligence:Will dentists do their proper due diligence and communicate with primary care physicians to verify the patients medical records and vaccine history? Will dentists respect the right of refusal?3) Administrative Burden & Costs:Will dental facilities have the space to store and dispose of vaccines? Will this add to the cost of dental services? This seems like an undue burden on the dental profession with the added personnel, space for freezers or proper storage, insurance. When making these types of decisions it is imperative to consider the potential outcomes. Could this typeof bill lead to discrimination if patients decline such medical procedures? Could the potential increased costs of business also increase prices of dental services? And since there is no guarantee that dental insurance would pay for this, would this lead to higher dental bills and therefore reduce dental visits?Overall, I think the focus and scope of dental professionals should remain exclusively in the realm of oral health.

I oppose HSB 71 and I urge you to kill this bill to prevent it from getting past subcommittee.Dentists have no business prescribing or administering vaccines of any kind. Dentists are not properly trained. They do not have the complete health history of a patient, let alone the training on how to observe reactions. Will they know the difference between an allergic reaction, cardiac arrest, seizure, etc? Too many people are already injured by vaccines without proper reporting, we do NOT need to add more practitioners to the list who are not prepared for the negative consequences.

I oppose this bill as it in no way is a good idea to add more persons to be administering vaccines. If this is passed, what comes next...what will be allowed next. Just because there are more and more unsafe and improperly tested vaccines does not mean we should make the allowance for more people to administer them.

I strongly oppose HSB 71. My father in law was a dentist for 30 years. My own father served as a pharmacist in the Air Force for 21 years. BOTH will tell you they do not have the training or capacity to be responsible for the extent of Healthcare of an individual that allows them to prescribe and administer vaccines. I will point to a situation this last week in Iowa wherein a 15 year old female was by accident given the Moderna vaccine. I am guessing based on language that there was a step missed when verifying she was eligible. Dentist and pharmacist should not have the burden of liability that this bill would place on them.

I oppose HSB71. Dentist are not qualified to assess all the health issues that influence the informed decision on the proper time to vaccinate people, especially children. They do not have access to immunization or general health records to know if a vaccine has already been given or needs to be given. They are not equipped to deal with serious adverse reactions which can occur. Keep vaccinations in a medical setting where personnel are experienced to administer vaccines and to deal with adverse reactions.

I strongly oppose this bill. Dentists do not have the educational background to properly recognize an adverse reaction, AND treat one. They are simply not taught how to care for a patient with a severe adverse reaction, and with the COVID vaccine specifically we ARE seeing severe adverse reactions within a very short period of time. I feel it would be irresponsible to allow dentists to administer this vaccine.

I oppose this bill. As a mother of a vaccine injured child this concerns me. Vaccine decisions should be made between a doctor and patient. Not a dentist who does not know their medical history. I am also concerned about reactions being reported to VAERS too. We already have issues with normal medical doctors not reporting these, (less than 1% reported, https://digital.ahrq.gov/sites/default/files/docs/publication/r18hs017045lazarusfinalreport2011.pdf) how do we know that allowing a dentist to administer vaccines won't make this worse? What patient is going to go back to a dentists office to make sure a reaction is reported? Most people aren't even aware that VAERS exists to begin with.

With all the potential adverse reactions to the new MRNA vaccines, its now more important than ever for someone chooses to be vaccinated to be in the care of a doctor, not a dentist or pharmacist.

I strongly oppose this bill. A dentist should be an expert in their field of knowledge, which is teeth and mouth health. It is NOT just about how to give an intermuscular shot correctly. There are so many other things that should (but not always do, even in doctor's offices) go into if a medical procedure/medication such as a vaccine is correct for someone. A thorough health history, discussion of possible side effects, risks, benefits, proper storage and disposal of materials, and the ability to react quickly in the event of an adverse reaction need to be factored in. A dentist's office and employees are not going to be able to do these things effectively and safely. Keep the medical interventions in the scope of the physician's please.
