1 2 BY IVERSON and GRONSTAL
1 3 (COMPANION TO LSB 6530HH BY GIPP)
1 4 A Resolution to recognize and honor Iowans serving in all
1 5 branches and components of the military.
1 6 WHEREAS, Iowa contributes significant numbers of
1 7 military personnel to the defense capability of the
1 8 United States and such personnel are vitally important
1 9 to our national security; and
1 10 WHEREAS, Iowans serving in the military accept
1 11 their role as defenders of our people's freedoms and
1 12 rights, and continue to meet and exceed the readiness
1 13 standards; and
1 14 WHEREAS, Iowans serving in the military are
1 15 continually on the vigil and ready to respond when
1 16 called for a war, conflict, or national emergency; and
1 17 WHEREAS, Iowans serving in the military continue to
1 18 demonstrate their professionalism, dedication, and
1 19 skills, as well as their patriotism and love for their
1 20 country and the liberties, freedoms, and rights that
1 21 it stands for as they mobilize in record numbers to
1 22 support Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring
1 23 Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the global war
1 24 on terrorism; and
1 25 WHEREAS, Iowans serving in the military are
1 26 prepared to accomplish their missions in worldwide
1 27 locations as they endure separation from their homes
1 28 and family relationships and obligations, and missed
1 29 special family occasions as they fulfill their
1 30 assignments; and
2 1 WHEREAS, the actions of Iowans serving in the
2 2 military reflect great credit upon all the people of
2 3 the State of Iowa; NOW THEREFORE,
2 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
2 5 recognizes and honors the Iowa members of the military
2 6 for their dedication and outstanding performance of
2 7 duty, and the Senate expresses its appreciation to the
2 8 families of Iowa's military members.
