1 2 BY WARNSTADT
1 3 A Resolution to recognize Company D, 109th Aviation, of
1 4 the Iowa Army National Guard for its dedication and
1 5 outstanding performance of duty.
1 6 WHEREAS, one hundred seventy soldiers from Company
1 7 D, 109th Aviation, of the Iowa Army National Guard
1 8 were selected to perform a vital aviation maintenance
1 9 mission in support of the 160th Special Operations
1 10 Aviation Regiment (Airborne) operations in Operation
1 11 Enduring Freedom and the United States's war on
1 12 terrorism from November 2001 to October 2002; and
1 13 WHEREAS, throughout their mobilization, deployment,
1 14 and demobilization, the soldiers of Company D
1 15 continually demonstrated professionalism, dedication,
1 16 and skills of the highest order, and established
1 17 themselves as a well-led and well-trained, motivated
1 18 aviation intermediate maintenance company; and
1 19 WHEREAS, the members of Company D served at Fort
1 20 Campbell, Kentucky, Fort Stewart, Georgia, and
1 21 overseas locations, and were separated from home and
1 22 family relationships and obligations, and missed
1 23 special family occasions as they fulfilled their
1 24 assignment; and
1 25 WHEREAS, the people of the State of Iowa take great
1 26 pride in the professionalism of the soldiers of
1 27 Company D, 109th Aviation; NOW THEREFORE,
1 28 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, That the Senate
1 29 recognize the members of Company D, 109th Aviation,
1 30 for their dedication and outstanding performance of
2 1 duty, and that the Senate express its appreciation to
2 2 the families of the members of Company D; and
2 3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this
2 4 Resolution be presented to the Iowa Army National
2 5 Guard Commanders of the 1st Battalion, 109th Aviation,
2 6 and to Company D, 109th Aviation, and to all members
2 7 of Company D.
