1 1 Section 1. There is appropriated from the general fund of
1 2 the state to the department of agriculture and land
1 3 stewardship for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004, and
1 4 ending June 30, 2005, the following amount, or so much thereof
1 5 as is necessary, to be used for the purpose designated:
1 6 For the support of testing and monitoring avian influenza:
1 7 .................................................. $ 50,000
1 8 Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys appropriated pursuant
1 9 to this section which are unencumbered or unobligated on June
1 10 30, 2005, shall not revert as provided in section 8.33. After
1 11 June 30, 2005, the department shall retain any such
1 12 unobligated or unencumbered moneys for the continued testing
1 13 and monitoring of avian influenza.
1 14 EXPLANATION
1 15 This bill appropriates moneys to the department of
1 16 agriculture and land stewardship for the purpose of supporting
1 17 the testing and monitoring of avian influenza affecting the
1 18 poultry industry. The department is directed to retain
1 19 unencumbered moneys remaining after the end of the fiscal year
1 20 to carry out that same purpose.
