PAG LIN 1 1 SENATE FILE 2059 1 2 1 3 AN ACT 1 4 RELATING TO AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE 1 5 FEES FOR THE BIRTH DEFECTS REGISTRY AND CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION 1 6 PROGRAMS, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 1 7 1 8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: 1 9 1 10 Section 1. Section 144.13A, subsection 4, paragraph a, 1 11 Code Supplement 2003, is amended to read as follows: 1 12 a.It is the intent of the general assembly that the funds1 13generated from the registration fees be appropriated and used1 14as follows:1 15(1)Beginning July 1, 2003, and ending June 30, 2005, ten 1 16 dollars of each registration fee is appropriated and shall be 1 17 used for primary and secondary child abuse prevention programs 1 18 pursuant to section 235A.1, and five dollars of each 1 19 registration fee is appropriated and shall be used for the 1 20 birth defects institute central registry established pursuant 1 21 to section 136A.6. 1 22(2)Beginning July 1, 2005, ten dollars of each 1 23 registration fee is appropriated and shall be used for primary 1 24 and secondary child abuse prevention programs pursuant to 1 25 section 235A.1, and ten dollars of each registration fee is 1 26 appropriated and shall be used for the birth defects institute 1 27 central registry established pursuant to section 136A.6. 1 28 Sec. 2.
