  1  1    Section 1.  Section 364.17, subsection 5, Code 2003, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    5.  Cities may establish reasonable fees for inspection and
  1  4 enforcement procedures.  Such a reasonable fee shall not
  1  5 exceed the actual cost of an inspection and any subsequent
  1  6 reinspection.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This bill provides that reasonable fees for inspections
  1  9 conducted pursuant to a city housing code shall not exceed the
  1 10 actual cost of an inspection and any subsequent reinspection.
