  1  1    Section 1.  Section 25.3, Code 2003, is amended to read as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    25.3  FILING WITH GENERAL ASSEMBLY – TESTIMONY.
  1  4    On the second day after the convening of each regular
  1  5 session of the general assembly, the state appeal board shall
  1  6 file with the clerk of the house of representatives and the
  1  7 secretary of the senate a list of all claims rejected by the
  1  8 state appeal board together with a copy of the report made to
  1  9 it the board by the special assistant attorney general for
  1 10 claims and its the board's recommendation thereon for
  1 11 regarding each claim, which.  The report and recommendation
  1 12 shall be delivered to the claims committee appropriations
  1 13 committees of the house of representatives and senate.  Any
  1 14 testimony taken by the special assistant attorney general for
  1 15 claims shall be preserved by the state appeal board and made
  1 16 available to the claims committee of the general assembly
  1 17 appropriations committees of the house of representatives and
  1 18 senate.  
  1 19                           EXPLANATION
  1 20    This bill requires submission of rejected state claims to
  1 21 the general assembly's appropriations committees.  Current law
  1 22 in Code section 25.3 requires submission of the information to
  1 23 the claims committees of the senate and house of
  1 24 representatives.  The claims committees of the senate and
  1 25 house of representatives no longer exist.
