UNITED STATES MARSHAL'S SERVICE AND FEDERAL 2 20 BUREAU OF PRISONS. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2 21 2002, of the regular per diem reimbursement costs billed by 2 22 the department of corrections to the United States marshal's 2 23 service for holding detainees and to the federal bureau of 2 24 prisons for inmates, $3,350,000 shall be deposited entirely 2 25 into the general fund of the state. Regular per diem 2 26 reimbursements received in addition to that amount for the 2 27 fiscal year may be retained by and to the extent retained are 2 28 appropriated to the department of corrections. Regular per 2 29 diem reimbursements not retained shall be deposited into the 2 30 general fund of the state. The increases in appropriations 8 21 and appropriation made in this Act apply following the 8 22 reductions in appropriations made pursuant to 2002 Iowa Acts, 8 23 Second Extraordinary Session, chapter 1003, section 220, and 8 24 the provisions of 2002 Iowa Acts, Second Extraordinary 8 25 Session, chapter 1003, section 220, are not applicable to such 8 26 increases and appropriation. 8 27 8 28 8 29 8 30 MARY E.
