1 1 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY MILLER
1 3 A Resolution congratulating Ms. Courtney Knupp on being
1 4 crowned 2004 Iowa Pork Queen.
1 5 WHEREAS, on January 28, 2004, during the Iowa Pork
1 6 Congress, Ms. Courtney Knupp was coronated as the Iowa
1 7 Pork Queen; and
1 8 WHEREAS, Ms. Courtney Knupp, daughter of Mark and
1 9 Mary Ann Knupp of Washington, Iowa, grew up as part of
1 10 a farm family involved in pork production; and
1 11 WHEREAS, Ms. Knupp is distinguished by her
1 12 participation in a number of athletic, scholastic, and
1 13 agriculture-related activities while attending
1 14 Washington High School, including participation in
1 15 golf, softball, and volleyball, the Quill and Scroll
1 16 Society, the National Honor Society, the National
1 17 Council on Youth Leadership, and Future Farmers of
1 18 America (FFA); and
1 19 WHEREAS, Ms. Knupp is pursuing a career in
1 20 agriculture, attending Iowa State University, and
1 21 majoring in agricultural business and economics, and
1 22 has continued to be active in a number of endeavors
1 23 including Freshman Council, the Agricultural Business
1 24 Club, and the Pi Beta Phi Sorority; NOW THEREFORE,
1 25 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF
1 26 REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING, That the General Assembly
1 27 extends its congratulations to Ms. Knupp on being
1 28 crowned the 2004 Iowa Pork Queen and thanks her for
1 29 serving Iowa as a goodwill ambassador for the pork
1 30 industry during her year-long reign; and
2 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That upon adoption, an
2 2 official copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2 3 presentation to Ms. Knupp.
