1 1 Amend Senate File 2255 as follows:
1 2 #1. Page 1, by striking lines 18 through 20 and
1 3 inserting the following: "learning curriculum that
1 4 may be integrated into the social studies requirements
1 5 for Iowa's secondary students at the discretion of
1 6 each board of directors of a school district or the
1 7 authorities in charge of each accredited nonpublic
1 8 school. The curriculum shall include".
1 9 #2. Page 2, by inserting after line 24 the
1 10 following:
1 11 "(5) The director of the department of cultural
1 12 affairs, or the director's designee.
1 13 (6) The state librarian, or the state librarian's
1 14 designee."
1 15 #3. Page 2, line 29, by inserting after the word
1 16 "education" the following: ", in cooperation with the
1 17 Iowa studies committee,".
1 18 #4. Page 3, by inserting after line 8 the
1 19 following:
1 20 "5. This section is repealed effective July 1,
1 21 2008."
1 22 #5. By renumbering as necessary.
