1 3 #1. Page 9, by inserting after line 15, the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. . Section 135.61, subsection 14,
1 6 paragraph f, Code 2003, is amended by striking the
1 7 paragraph.
1 8 Sec. . Section 135.61, subsection 18, Code
1 9 2003, is amended by adding the following new
1 10 paragraph:
1 11 NEW PARAGRAPH. n. Any of the following relative
1 12 to a birth center:
1 13 (1) Any capital expenditure in excess of five
1 14 hundred thousand dollars.
1 15 (2) Bed capacity in excess of three beds.
1 16 (3) Performance of cesarean sections or operative
1 17 deliveries, or the use of regional anesthesia by the
1 18 birth center.
1 19 (4) Failure of a birth center to provide upon
1 20 request demonstrable evidence that the birth center
1 21 has met the national standards for birth centers of
1 22 the national association of child-bearing centers."
1 23 #2. By renumbering as necessary.
