1 1 Section 1. Section 598.41, Code 2003, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 9. The supreme court shall prescribe
1 4 rules for custody orders regarding the provision of
1 5 information to local school districts relative to a student of
1 6 the school district, including but not limited to information
1 7 regarding all of the following:
1 8 a. Any party allowed access to the child while on school
1 9 premises.
1 10 b. Any party allowed communication with the child while on
1 11 school premises.
1 12 c. Any party allowed to attend school conferences or other
1 13 functions.
1 14 d. Any party allowed access to the child's educational
1 15 records.
1 16 e. Any party who should receive correspondence or other
1 17 communication from the school.
1 18 f. Any party allowed to remove the child from the school
1 19 premises.
1 20 g. Any party who should be contacted in the case of an
1 21 emergency.
1 22 h. Any party who is authorized to sign school documents
1 23 providing consent.
1 24 EXPLANATION
1 25 This bill directs the supreme court to prescribe rules for
1 26 custody orders regarding the provision of information to local
1 27 school districts relative to a student of the school district.
1 28 The bill specifies the minimum information that the rules are
1 29 to address.
