1 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO.
1 2 BY RAECKER
1 3 A Resolution recognizing the achievements of the
1 4 Urbandale Senior League All Star Team in winning
1 5 the Central Regional Championship of the 2003 Senior
1 6 League Baseball World Series.
1 7 WHEREAS, the Urbandale Senior League All Star Team
1 8 won the regional championship after defeating state
1 9 champions from Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Kentucky
1 10 by a combined score of 57-8, capped by a no-hitter
1 11 game; and
1 12 WHEREAS, the Urbandale Senior League All Star Team
1 13 displayed a high degree of teamwork, discipline, and
1 14 effort in achieving an overall record of 16 wins and 4
1 15 losses during district, state, regional, and world
1 16 series phases of the competition; and
1 17 WHEREAS, the Urbandale Senior League All Star Team
1 18 defeated the New Jersey state champions, a three-time
1 19 Senior League Baseball World Series participant, and
1 20 advanced to the Senior League World Series Final Four
1 21 competition in Bangor, Maine; NOW THEREFORE,
1 22 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
1 23 That the House of Representatives salutes the
1 24 Urbandale Senior League All Star Team members and
1 25 coaches for their achievements in the 2003 Senior
1 26 League Baseball World Series; and
1 27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the House of
1 28 Representatives expresses appreciation to the team
1 29 members for representing the best qualities of Iowa
1 30 youth, especially their dedication and perseverance;
2 1 and
2 2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That an official copy of
2 3 this Resolution be prepared and presented to the
2 4 Urbandale Senior League All Star Team.
