1 2 BY SCHICKEL, UPMEYER, RAYHONS, and KUHN
1 3 A Resolution to recognize and honor the soldiers of the
1 4 1133rd Transportation Company of the Iowa National
1 5 Guard and their families.
1 6 WHEREAS, Iowa's citizen-soldiers have faithfully
1 7 served, sacrificed for, and protected the United
1 8 States for over 150 years; and
1 9 WHEREAS, that spirit and sacrifice have now been
1 10 embodied by the service provided by the soldiers of
1 11 the 1133rd Transportation Company of the Iowa National
1 12 Guard, which has just completed one year of arduous
1 13 and dangerous service in Iraq; and
1 14 WHEREAS, that burden of service has been shared by
1 15 the families of those soldiers and the communities of
1 16 northern Iowa where those soldiers live and work; and
1 17 WHEREAS, that spirit, sacrifice, and service
1 18 reflects great credit upon all the people of the State
1 19 of Iowa; NOW THEREFORE,
1 20 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
1 21 That the House of Representatives recognizes and
1 22 honors the soldiers of the 1133rd Transportation
1 23 Company of the Iowa National Guard for their
1 24 dedication and outstanding performance of duty; and
1 25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the House of
1 26 Representatives expresses its appreciation to the
1 27 families of those soldiers for the sacrifices they
1 28 have made and the support they have provided in the
1 29 name of freedom; and
1 30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That on behalf of all the
2 1 people of Iowa, the House of Representatives welcomes
2 2 the soldiers of the 1133rd Transportation Company back
2 3 to their families, friends, and communities.
