  1  4 RELATING TO THE QUORUM REQUIREMENT FOR THE IOWACCESS ADVISORY
  1  5    COUNCIL.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  8 
  1  9    Section 1.  Section 8A.221, subsection 3, paragraph b, Code
  1 10 Supplement 2003, is amended to read as follows:
  1 11    b.  Members appointed by the governor are subject to
  1 12 confirmation by the senate and shall serve four-year staggered
  1 13 terms as designated by the governor.  The advisory council
  1 14 shall annually elect its own chairperson from among the voting
  1 15 members of the board council.  A majority of the voting
  1 16 members of the council constitutes a quorum.  Members
  1 17 appointed by the governor are subject to the requirements of
  1 18 sections 69.16, 69.16A, and 69.19.  Members appointed by the
  1 19 governor shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses
  1 20 incurred in performance of their duties.  Such members may
  1 21 also be eligible to receive compensation as provided in
  1 22 section 7E.6.
