  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  86.16  HEARINGS – SCHEDULING.
  1  2    All contested cases before the workers' compensation
  1  3 commissioner, except under unusual circumstances, shall be
  1  4 brought to issue and heard on a date that is no more than
  1  5 fourteen months from the date the original notice and petition
  1  6 is filed.  
  1  7                           EXPLANATION
  1  8    This bill provides that all contested cases brought before
  1  9 the workers' compensation commissioner must have a hearing no
  1 10 later than 14 months after the original notice and petition in
  1 11 the case is filed.  An exception is made for unusual
  1 12 circumstances.
