  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  73.7  INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY,
  1  2 DATA MANAGEMENT, AND RELATED SERVICES.
  1  3    A commission, board, committee, officer, or other governing
  1  4 body of the state shall not purchase an information technology
  1  5 service, data management service, or any related service from
  1  6 a foreign nation unless that service cannot be reasonably
  1  7 obtained in the United States.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill prohibits all state agencies from purchasing
  1 10 information technology services, data management services, or
  1 11 related services from a foreign nation if those services
  1 12 cannot be reasonably obtained in the United States.
