1 1 Section 1. Section 35B.5, Code 2003, is amended to read as
1 2 follows:
1 3 35B.5 COMPENSATION.
1 4 A member of the commission shall receive twenty-five
1 5 dollars or more for each month during which the member attends
1 6 one or more commission meetings, as determined by the board of
1 7 supervisors, and shall be reimbursed for mileage the same as a
1 8 member of the board of supervisors. Compensation and mileage
1 9 shall be paid out of the appropriation authorized in section
1 10 35B.14.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill provides that a member of a county commission of
1 13 veteran affairs shall receive compensation of $25 or more, as
1 14 determined by the county board of supervisors, for each month
1 15 during which the member attends one or more commission
1 16 meetings. Currently, the commission members receive a flat
1 17 $25 for such service.
