1 1 Section 1. NATIONAL GUARD EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.
1 2 There is appropriated from the general fund of the state to
1 3 the college student aid commission for the fiscal year
1 4 beginning July 1, 2004, and ending June 30, 2005, the
1 5 following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be
1 6 used for the purposes designated:
1 7 For purposes of providing national guard educational
1 8 assistance under the program established in section 261.86:
1 9 .................................................. $ 2,900,000
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill appropriates $2.9 million from the general fund
1 12 of the state to the college student aid commission for FY
1 13 2004-2005 to provide educational assistance to national guard
1 14 members in an amount not less than 50 percent of the resident
1 15 tuition rate established for regents universities or 50
1 16 percent of the tuition rate at the institution attended by the
1 17 national guard member, whichever is lower.
