  1  1    Section 1.  Section 237.20, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code
  1  2 Supplement 2003, is amended to read as follows:
  1  3    A local board shall, except in delinquency cases, do the
  1  4 following:  
  1  5                           EXPLANATION
  1  6    This bill partially restores the participation of the
  1  7 foster care review board in reviewing delinquency cases of
  1  8 children involved in foster care.  The participation of the
  1  9 foster care review board in delinquency cases was totally
  1 10 eliminated in House File 694 during the 2003 legislative
  1 11 session.
  1 12    The bill provides that the foster care review board shall
  1 13 review the case permanency plan of a delinquent child involved
  1 14 in foster care, notify certain persons prior to the review,
  1 15 submit the findings of their review, and encourage placement
  1 16 of the delinquent child in the most appropriate setting.
