PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 123.3, subsection 12A, Code Supplement 1 2 2003, is amended to read as follows: 1 3 12A. "Designated security employee" means an agent, 1 4 contract employee, independent contractor, servant, or 1 5 employee of a licensee or permittee whois primarily employed1 6for security purposesworks in a security position in any 1 7 capacity at a commercial establishment licensed or permitted 1 8 under this chapter. 1 9 Sec. 2. Section 123.32, subsection 4, Code Supplement 1 10 2003, is amended to read as follows: 1 11 4. SECURITY EMPLOYEE TRAINING. A local authority, as a 1 12 condition of obtaining and holding a license or permit for on- 1 13 premises consumption, may require a designated security 1 14 employee as defined in section 123.3 to be trained and 1 15 certified in security methods. The training shall include but 1 16 is not limited to mediation techniques, civil rights or unfair 1 17 practices awareness as provided in section 216.7, and 1 18 providing instruction on the proper physical restraint methods 1 19 used against a person who has become combative. 1 20 HF 511 1 21 jm/es/25
