1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 135C.34A NURSE AIDE –
1 2 CERTIFICATION.
1 3 In addition to any other training requirements established
1 4 by the department of inspections and appeals by rule, a nurse
1 5 aide training and competency evaluation program shall consist
1 6 of and require no less than ninety clock hours of training by
1 7 students prior to certification.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill provides that the required number of hours of
1 10 training necessary for approval as a certified nurse aide
1 11 shall be increased from the current level of 75 hours, as
1 12 provided by administrative rule, to 90 hours. The bill
1 13 codifies the requirement of 90 hours of training.
