  1  4 RELATING TO THE CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF IDENTITY THEFT BY MAKING 
  1  5    CHANGES IN THE ELEMENTS OF THE OFFENSE.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  9    Section 1.  Section 715A.8, subsection 2, Code 2003, is
  1 10 amended to read as follows:
  1 11    2.  A person commits the offense of identity theft if the
  1 12 person with the intent to obtain a benefit fraudulently
  1 13 obtains identification information of another person and uses
  1 14 or attempts to fraudulently use that identification
  1 15 information of another person, with the intent to obtain
  1 16 credit, property, or services without the authorization of
  1 17 that other person, or other benefit.
