1 1 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. ___
1 2 BY WISE, PETERSEN, HOGG, STRUYK,
1 3 WHITAKER, and T. TAYLOR
1 4 A Concurrent Resolution to provide for a temporary
1 5 adjournment of the 2004 Regular Legislative Session
1 6 for the purpose of awaiting the March 2004 report of
1 7 the revenue estimating conference.
1 8 WHEREAS, important legislation cannot be adequately
1 9 considered and passed until the revenue estimating
1 10 conference has met during the first calendar quarter
1 11 of 2004 and agreed upon estimates of revenue for
1 12 fiscal years 2003-2004 and 2004-2005; NOW THEREFORE,
1 13 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, THE
1 14 SENATE CONCURRING, That when adjournment is had on
1 15 Thursday, January 15, 2004, it be to reconvene on
1 16 Monday, March 8, 2004, at 10:00 a.m.; and
1 17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the revenue estimating
1 18 conference shall meet during the first calendar
1 19 quarter of 2004 no later than Friday, March 5, 2004,
1 20 and agree upon estimates of revenue for fiscal years
1 21 2003-2004 and 2004-2005; and
1 22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That during this period of
1 23 temporary adjournment, members of the general assembly
1 24 shall not be entitled to receive per diem and expenses
1 25 pursuant to section 2.10 of the Code of Iowa.
1 26 However, the number of days for which members are not
1 27 entitled to receive per diem pursuant to this
1 28 paragraph shall not be counted in any statutory or
1 29 other limitation on the total number of days for which
1 30 members are entitled to receive per diem.
