  1  1    Amend the Senate amendment, H-8561, to House File
  1  2 2555, as amended, passed, and reprinted by the House,
  1  3 as follows:
  1  4    #1.  By inserting after line 4 the following:
  1  5    "#   .  Page 4, by inserting after line 2 the
  1  6 following:
  1  7    "Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  139A.13A  ISOLATION OR
  1  8 QUARANTINE – EMPLOYMENT PROTECTION.
  1  9    1.  An employer shall not discharge an employee, or
  1 10 take action to reduce an employee's wages or benefits
  1 11 for actual time worked, due to the compliance of an
  1 12 employee with a quarantine or isolation order issued
  1 13 by the department or a local board.
  1 14    2.  An employer who violates this section commits a
  1 15 simple misdemeanor.
  1 16    3.  An employee whose employer violates this
  1 17 section shall also be entitled to recover damages from
  1 18 the employer including, but not limited to, actual
  1 19 damages, court costs, and reasonable attorney fees.
  1 20 The employee may also petition the court for
  1 21 imposition of a cease and desist order against the
  1 22 person's employer and for reinstatement to the
  1 23 person's previous position of employment.""
