1 2 #1. Page 14, by inserting after line 25, the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . Section 170.3, Code Supplement 2003, is
1 5 amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 6 NEW SUBSECTION. 3. The department of agriculture
1 7 and land stewardship shall provide for the inspection,
1 8 slaughter, and processing of farm deer and meat food
1 9 products derived from farm deer under chapter 189A.
1 10 Sec. . NEW SECTION. 170.4A CHRONIC WASTING
1 11 DISEASE – MONITORING PROGRAM.
1 12 The department may administer a voluntary chronic
1 13 wasting disease program. As part of the program, the
1 14 department may provide for the testing and monitoring
1 15 of farm deer pursuant to rules adopted by the
1 16 department. The department may also adopt rules
1 17 establishing fees imposed upon persons participating
1 18 in the program. The fees shall be treated as
1 19 repayment receipts as defined in section 8.2 and shall
1 20 be used exclusively by the department for the
1 21 administration of this chapter."
1 22 #2. Page 14, by inserting after line 30 the
1 23 following:
1 24 "Sec. . Section 189A.7, Code 2003, is amended
1 25 by adding the following new subsection:
1 26 NEW SUBSECTION. 13. Adopt rules providing a fee
1 27 schedule for the inspection, slaughter, and processing
1 28 of farm deer and meat food products derived from farm
1 29 deer under chapter 170. The fees shall be treated as
1 30 repayment receipts as defined in section 8.2 and shall
1 31 be used exclusively by the department for the
1 32 administration of chapter 170."
