  1  1    Amend Senate File 2298, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 182, by inserting after line 12 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  153.40  MOBILE DENTAL
  1  6 DELIVERY SYSTEM.
  1  7    The Iowa department of public health shall
  1  8 establish and implement a mobile dental delivery
  1  9 system to make available dental supplies, portable
  1 10 dental equipment, and vans to be used in transporting
  1 11 the equipment to provide oral health services to and
  1 12 improve the oral health of low-income persons who live
  1 13 in federal or state-designated health professional
  1 14 shortage areas and have the least access to oral
  1 15 health services.  The department shall coordinate the
  1 16 program.  Funds available for improving oral health
  1 17 may also be used for loan forgiveness for dental
  1 18 providers or to develop oral health training modules
  1 19 for nursing home staff or other suitable staff who
  1 20 provide oral health services to persons described in
  1 21 this section."
  1 22    #2.  Page 204, by inserting after line 17 the
  1 23 following:
  1 24    "   .  The section of this division of this Act
  1 25 enacting section 153.40 takes effect upon receipt of
  1 26 the Iowa department of public health of federal
  1 27 funding to establish a mobile dental delivery system.
  1 28 The director of public health shall notify the Iowa
  1 29 code editor that the funding has been received."
