1 7 "b. Of the funds appropriated in this section,
1 8 $100,000 shall be used for participation in one or
1 9 more pilot projects operated by a private provider to
1 10 allow the individual or individuals to receive service
1 11 in the community in accordance with principles
1 12 established in the Olmstead v. L.C. 527 U.S. 581
1 13 (1999) for the purpose of providing medical assistance
1 14 or other assistance to individuals with special needs
1 15 who become ineligible to continue receiving services
1 16 under the early and periodic screening, diagnosis, and
1 17 treatment program under the medical assistance program
1 18 due to becoming twenty-one years of age, who have been
1 19 approved for additional assistance through the
1 20 department's exception to policy provisions, but who
1 21 have health care needs in excess of the funding
1 22 available through the exception to the policy
1 23 provisions."
