1 1 Amend House File 2440 as follows:
1 2 #1. By striking everything after the enacting
1 3 clause and inserting the following:
1 4 "Section 1. NEW SECTION. 519A.14 GOOD LICENSED
1 5 HEALTH CARE PROVIDER DISCOUNT PLAN.
1 6 1. A licensed health care provider who is
1 7 successful in defending all medical malpractice cases
1 8 filed against the licensed health care provider for a
1 9 period of five years shall receive a twenty percent
1 10 discounted rate from what the licensed health care
1 11 provider would otherwise have been charged from the
1 12 same coverage.
1 13 2. A licensed health care provider who is
1 14 successful in defending all medical malpractice cases
1 15 filed against the licensed health care provider for a
1 16 period of ten years shall receive a forty percent
1 17 discounted rate from what the licensed health care
1 18 provider would otherwise have been charged from the
1 19 same coverage."
1 20 #2. Title page, line 1, by striking the words
1 21 "noneconomic damages against" and inserting the
1 22 following: "damages against and related premiums
1 23 charged to".
