1 2 #1. Page 7, by inserting after line 3, the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. . WORKERS' COMPENSATION STUDY. The
1 5 workers' compensation commissioner and the
1 6 commissioner of insurance shall commence a study to
1 7 determine the inflationary factors in workers'
1 8 compensation insurance premiums charged to Iowa
1 9 employers that include the escalating cost of medical
1 10 services and prescription drugs and to make
1 11 recommendations in regard to fee schedules for medical
1 12 services. The study shall include the amount of
1 13 commissions paid to insurance producers and recommend
1 14 a fee schedule for commissions received by insurance
1 15 producers writing such coverages. The study shall
1 16 also include what effect, if any, the handling of
1 17 workers' compensation by attorneys on a contingency
1 18 fee basis has on the receipt of benefits by employees
1 19 or on insurance premiums."
