  1  1    Amend Senate File 453, as amended, passed, and
  1  2 reprinted by the Senate, as follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 2, by inserting after line 5 the
  1  4 following:
  1  5    "Sec.    .  Section 405A.6, Code 2003, is amended
  1  6 to read as follows:
  1  7    405A.6  COUNTY HOSPITAL ALLOCATIONS.
  1  8    1.  For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1988
  1  9 2003, and each subsequent fiscal year, the amount due
  1 10 to each county hospital in the state is equal to the
  1 11 general allocation of the county hospital as
  1 12 determined in section 405A.2, Code 2003, for the
  1 13 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2002.
  1 14    2.  When a county hospital is discontinued or
  1 15 organized pursuant to chapter 37, the amounts that
  1 16 would otherwise be due to the hospital under this
  1 17 section shall be paid to the county.  Notwithstanding
  1 18 section 8.56, subsections 3 and 4, there is
  1 19 appropriated from the cash reserve fund for each
  1 20 fiscal year, an amount sufficient to pay the amounts
  1 21 due under subsection 1."

  1 24    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
