1 2 #1. Page 14, by inserting before line 32 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "DIVISION __
1 5 SOLID WASTE
1 6 Sec. . Section 455D.9, Code 2003, is amended by
1 7 adding the following new subsection:
1 8 NEW SUBSECTION. 1A. Yard waste may be accepted by
1 9 a sanitary landfill for land disposal if the sanitary
1 10 landfill operates an active methane collection system.
1 11 For purposes of calculating the waste stream and
1 12 determining the attainment of the waste stream
1 13 reductions under section 455D.3 for a year in which
1 14 yard waste has been accepted for land disposal
1 15 pursuant to this subsection, the planning area shall
1 16 estimate the amount of tonnage attributable to yard
1 17 waste and the estimated amount shall be subtracted
1 18 from the tonnage accepted by the planning area during
1 19 that year."
