1 2 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 22 the
1 3 following:
1 4 "Sec. 101. Section 35.1, subsection 2, paragraph
1 5 b, Code 2003, is amended by adding the following new
1 6 subparagraph:
1 7 NEW SUBPARAGRAPH. (5) Former members of the armed
1 8 forces of the United States if any portion of their
1 9 term of enlistment would have occurred within the time
1 10 period specified in paragraph "a", subparagraph (9),
1 11 but who instead opted to serve five years in the
1 12 reserve forces of the United States, as allowed by
1 13 federal law, and who were discharged under honorable
1 14 conditions."
1 15 #2. Page 3, by inserting after line 27 the
1 16 following:
1 17 "Sec. . STATE FUNDING. The military service
1 18 tax exemptions and credits provided pursuant to the
1 19 amendment to section 35.1 of this Act shall be funded
1 20 pursuant to chapter 426A and section 25B.7, subsection
1 21 2."
1 22 #3. Page 3, line 29, by inserting after the word
1 23 "subsections" the following: "1A,".
1 24 #4. Page 3, by inserting after line 32 the
1 25 following:
1 26 "1A. Section 101 of this Act amending section
1 27 35.1, being deemed of immediate importance, takes
1 28 effect upon enactment."
1 29 5. By renumbering as necessary.
