Senate Study Bill 3060 - IntroducedA Bill ForAn Act 1relating to the filing of certain reports with the Iowa

3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 68A.201A, subsection 6, Code 2024, is
2amended to read as follows:
36. The verified statement shall be filed by 4:30 p.m. in
4an electronic format no later than 11:59 p.m.of the day the
5filing is due.
6 Sec. 2. Section 68A.401, subsection 1, paragraph a, Code
72024, is amended to read as follows:
8a. A state statutory political committee, a county
9statutory political committee, a political committee, and a
10candidate’s committee shall file all statements and reports in
11an electronic format by 4:30 p.m. no later than 11:59 p.m.of
12the day the filing is due and according to rules adopted by the
13board.
14EXPLANATION
15The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
16the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
17This bill relates to the filing of certain reports with the
18Iowa ethics and campaign disclosure board. The bill changes
19the deadline for the filing of a verified statement from a
20federal or out-of-state committee or organization that makes a
21contribution to a committee organized in Iowa from 4:30 p.m.on
22the day the filing is due to 11:59 p.m.and requires that the
23report be filed in an electronic format. The bill also changes
24the filing deadline for statements and reports filed by a state
25or county statutory political committee, political committee,
26or candidate’s committee from 4:30 p.m.to 11:59 p.m.on the
27day the filing is due.
