NEW SECTION . 499C.3 Display of the American 1 flag. 2 The declaration of a common interest community, the bylaws 3 of a unit owners association or an executive board, and 4 the rules of a unit owners association or a common interest 5 community shall not prohibit a unit owner from displaying or 6 flying the American flag on the exterior of the unit owner’s 7 unit. 8 EXPLANATION 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 11 This bill relates to the right of unit owners in common 12 interest communities to display the American flag on the 13 exterior of their unit.
