Section 124B.2, subsection 1, Code 2024, is amended 14 by adding the following new paragraphs: 15 NEW PARAGRAPH . ai. 1-boc-4-AP (tert-butyl 16 4-(phenylamino)piperidine-1-carboxylate) and its salts. 17 NEW PARAGRAPH . aj. 4-piperidone (piperidin-4-one), 18 its acetals, its amides, its carbamates, its salts, and 19 salts of its acetals, its amides, and its carbamates, and 20 any combination thereof, whenever the existence of such is 21 possible. 22 Sec. 9. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of immediate 23 importance, takes effect upon enactment. 24 EXPLANATION 25 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 26 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 27 This bill relates to controlled substances, including 28 certain controlled substances schedules and precursor 29 substances reporting requirements. 30 The bill makes changes to controlled substances schedules 31 I, II, and IV in Iowa’s uniform controlled substances Act 32 (Code chapter 124) and to the precursor substances reporting 33 requirement in Code chapter 124B to conform to the specific 34 chemical designations of the substances contained in Title 21 35 -2- LSB 5301DP (5) 90 as/js 2/ 3
S.F. _____ H.F. _____ of the Code of Federal Regulations, parts 1300, 1308, and 1310. 1 A violation involving a controlled substance included in the 2 bill may result in a class “B” felony, and in addition to the 3 25-year mandatory minimum term of imprisonment for class “B” 4 felons, a fine of not less than $5,000 nor more than $100,000; 5 a class “C” felony punishable by imprisonment up to 10 years 6 and a fine of not less than $1,000 nor more than $50,000; or an 7 aggravated misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment up to 2 years 8 and a fine of at least $855 but not more than $8,540. 9 The bill takes effect upon enactment. 10 -3- LSB 5301DP (5) 90 as/js 3/ 3
