center
that
is
accredited
by
the

American
association
of
birthing
centers,
notwithstanding
any

provision
of
this
subchapter
to
the
contrary.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
exempts
birth
centers
accredited
by
the
American

association
of
birthing
centers
from
the
required
prior

application
to
the
department
of
public
health
for
and

receipt
of
a
certificate
of
need
pursuant
to
Code
chapter
135,
