1.
Section
425.15,
Code
2020,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION

a.
Except
as
provided
in
paragraph
3
“b”
,
the
name
and
address
of
an
individual
allowed
a
credit
4
under
this
section
and
maintained
by
the
county
recorder
or
5
other
entity
is
confidential
information,
unless
otherwise
6
ordered
by
a
court
or
released
by
the
lawful
custodian
of
the
7
records
pursuant
to
state
or
federal
law.

b.
Upon
request,
a
county
recorder
or
other
entity
may
share
9
information
as
described
in
paragraph
“a”
to
a
county
veterans
10
service
officer
for
purposes
of
providing
information
on
11
benefits
and
services
available
to
veterans
and
their
families.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that
the
name
and
address
of
an
individual
16
allowed
a
disabled
veteran
tax
credit
and
maintained
by
the
17
county
recorder
or
other
entity
are
confidential.
The
bill
18
allows
a
county
recorder
or
other
entity
to
share
information
19
otherwise
deemed
confidential
by
the
bill
upon
request
to
a
20
county
veterans
service
officer
for
purposes
of
providing
21
information
on
veterans’
benefits.
