Lee
won
the

Collegiate

Association
(NCAA)
wrestling
championship

title
at
125
pounds
for
the
second
consecutive

year;
and

WHEREAS,
Lee’s
2019
national
championship
title
win

is
the
84th
NCAA
individual
title
win
in
University
of

Iowa
wrestling
program
history;
and

WHEREAS,
Lee
is
the
23rd
multi-NCAA
championship
15
title
winner
in
University
of
Iowa
wrestling
program

history;
and

WHEREAS,
Lee
received
a
number
of
awards
and
honors

during
his
sophomore
wrestling
season
at
the
University

of
Iowa,
including
earning
All-American
honors
for
the

second
consecutive
year,
being
named
to
the
academic

undefeated
in
Big
Ten

placing

at
the
2019

Wrestling

wrestling

record,
scoring
bonus
points
in

his

wins,

winning
the
University
of
Iowa
wrestling

Valuable
Wrestler

Award;
and

WHEREAS,
during
his
freshman
year,
Lee
won
the

2018
NCAA
wrestling
championship
title
at
125
pounds,

defeating
his
opponent
5-1,
and
becoming
the
University

of
Iowa’s
first
true
freshman
national
champion
since

1993;
and

WHEREAS,
Lee’s
2018
championship
title
win
was
the

culmination
of
an
incredible
comeback
season
at
Iowa

with
a
22-2
overall
record,
having
started
the
season

recovering
from
knee
surgery
and
competing
for
the

first
time
in
December
2017;
and

for
his

wrestling
campaign,
Lee
was

named
the

Big
Ten
Freshman
of
the
Year,
the
winner

the
Iowa
wrestling
