H.F. 618 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES —— SINGLE 1 CREDENTIALING VERIFICATION ORGANIZATION —— USE OF UNIFORM 2 AUTHORIZATION CRITERIA —— MEDICAID PROGRAM. The department of 3 human services shall develop uniform authorization criteria 4 for, and shall utilize a request for proposals process to 5 select a single credentialing verification organization to 6 be utilized in, credentialing and recredentialing providers 7 for the Medicaid managed care and fee-for-service payment and 8 delivery systems. The department shall contractually require 9 all Medicaid managed care organizations to utilize the single 10 credentialing verification organization selected and to apply 11 the uniform authorization criteria developed by the department. 12 EXPLANATION 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 15 This bill requires the department of human services to 16 develop uniform authorization criteria for, and to utilize a 17 request for proposals process to select a single credentialing 18 verification organization to be utilized in, credentialing and 19 recredentialing providers for the Medicaid managed care and 20 fee-for-service payment and delivery systems.
