bill
relates
to
provisions
governing
the
licensure

contractors
contained
in
Code

chapter
103.

The
bill
provides
any
terms
not
defined
in
the
Code
chapter

shall
have
the
meaning
provided
for
in
the
most
recent
national

electrical
code,
and
amendments
to
the
code.

Currently,
Code
section
103.23
makes
single-family

residential
installations
requiring
new
electrical
service
29
equipment
subject
to
the
inspection
and
enforcement
provisions
30
of
Code
chapter
103.
The
bill
removes
the
requirement
that
new
31
electrical
service
equipment
installation
is
necessary
for
the
32
provisions
to
apply
in
single-family
residential
electrical
33
installations.
As
a
result,
all
new
single-family
residential
34
electrical
installations
are
subject
to
the
inspection
and

enforcement
provisions
of
Code
chapter
103,
regardless
of

whether
new
electrical
service
equipment
is
required
as
part
of

the
new
electrical
installation.

The
bill
requires
the
inspection
of
new
panel
boards,
new

switchboards,
and
new
switchgear
to
be
subject
to
existing
5
state
electrical
inspection
fees
based
on
the
ampere
capacity
6
of
the
new
panel
boards,
new
switchboards,
and
new
switchgear.
