H.F. 138 Section 1. NEW SECTION . 280.31 Presidential precinct 1 caucuses —— school activities prohibited. 2 A public school shall not schedule any school activity after 3 the conclusion of the school day on the date of a precinct 4 caucus held as part of the presidential nominating process. 5 For purposes of this section, “school activity” includes but 6 is not limited to any athletic event, concert, performance, 7 contest, practice, or rehearsal, or any similar event, and 8 parent-teacher conferences. 9 EXPLANATION 10 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 11 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 12 This bill prohibits a public school from scheduling any 13 school activity after the conclusion of the school day on the 14 date of a precinct caucus held as part of the presidential 15 nominating process.
